On 2082/11/18 (March 02, 2026 A.D.), Ministry of Home Affairs (“MOHA”) published the List of Public Holidays (“Notice”) applicable from 2083/01/01 (April 14, 2026 A.D.) to 2083/12/31 (April 13, 2027 A.D.). The Notice is applicable to government offices and public entities. The Nepali version of the Notice can be accessed here.

  • Sunday to Thursday:    10:00 AM to 5:00 PM

  • Fridays:                         10:00 AM to 3:00 PM 

  • Winter Hours:                10:00 AM to 4:00 PM (November 2 to January 29)

  • Lunch Break:                 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM    


Provincial Government

Provincial governments can declare up to 6 public holidays based on regional customs, applicable to federal offices in the province. However, the MOHA will determine holidays for the three districts of the Kathmandu Valley.
